LEEDS CITY v. STARBECK

Played at Holbeck. Leeds City brought their League programme to a close after the match with Barnsley. The home players had much the best of the game in the first half but at the interval they only led by a goal, which was obtained by Fryer from his position of left back. the second half also opened in favour of the City men and Ashwick added to their total with a penalty kick. Afterwards Starbeck changed the run of play, Smith opening their score with a penalty, and before the close Benson put them on level with their opponents, the result thus being a draw of 2 goals each.
